Arc Businesses
| The Arc of Blackstone Valley operates several businesses. |
Community Based Training We are proud of the services our businesses provide and as a customer you will get a quality product.
More importantly, we want to break down the barriers and dispel the myths and stereotypes associated with adults with developmental disabilities.
Our businesses are community based training programs where individuals receive "on the job training". In each of our businesses, friendships and lasting bonds have been created between the customers and the workers.
Daggett Farm Greenhouse: provides seasonal flowers and vegetables, dried flower arrangements, wreaths and other holiday decoration as well as information on planting and maintaining gardens.
Flying Shuttles: our Weaving and Art Studio, provides artistic and technical training as well as employment opportunities for 20 individuals. The artists at Flying Shuttles specialize in hand-woven rugs of various sizes, table runners, placemats and pillow covers as well as artwork, clay work and other projects.
New to You and New to You Too: two retail thrift stores, sell high quality clothes and household goods at reasonable prices. Both stores have developed a loyal core of customers, who, by word of mouth, have produced an ever-expanding clientele base.
SORT: a recycling center, collects recyclable paper, aluminum, cardboard and plastic from local businesses and schools while providing meaningful employment and training opportunities.
Valley Landscaping: a mobile landscaping crew completes jobs for agency facilities as well as for private paying customers. In the off-season, the crew takes on clean up jobs such as cleaning out cellars as well as painting jobs. |
